Owen is on your team
Here to help you wise up and reflect your best self
I believe better health doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.
With a knack for making meaningful connections, I’ve spent years helping people and organizations rethink what wellness can look like in real life. As an award-winning naturopathic doctor, medical advisor, consultant, and speaker, I bring science, strategy, humour, and a whole lot of heart to the work I do.
Whether I’m working one-on-one, advising a business, or speaking to an audience, I’m here to make wellness feel less intimidating and a lot more inspiring.
It’s time to get WISE about your health.
The TECHNICAL VERSION
Owen completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Ottawa while working as a Clinical Researcher for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). His early work explored the impact of exercise on paediatric epilepsy before he later joined the gastroenterology/hepatology team. There, he contributed to projects studying the paediatric microbiome, including national research initiatives focused on children with inflammatory bowel disease.
After graduating from the University of Ottawa, Owen was pursuing his MD. But his time at CHEO became a turning point, revealing that while he was drawn to medicine, he wanted to practice in a way that allowed more time and connection with patients than the current system allowed.
He eventually found his way to naturopathic medicine. At the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Owen became known as a natural leader and committed community builder. He served on several committees, became President of the Naturopathic Students’ Association, and graduated as Valedictorian. He was also part of the Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue focus shift team, working with a group of passionate interns dedicated to supporting patients living with complex chronic illness.
Today, Owen’s work spans far beyond the clinic.
He is also a medical advisor and research specialist in the natural health and phytopharmaceutical space. Through this work, he supports scientific education, product development, regulatory review, healthcare professional training, stakeholder engagement, and the international development of evidence-based phytopharmaceuticals.
At the intersection of health, nature, and technology, Owen serves as Director with NatureQuant, where he helps advance the public health applications of quantified nature exposure and engages stakeholders across urban planning and climate resilience. He is also a committee member with PaRx, and a board member with the International Nature and Forest Therapy Alliance, reflecting his broader commitment to positioning nature as essential public health infrastructure.
His career has included keynotes, national conference presentations, podcasts, articles, and educational collaborations with organizations across Canada and internationally.
Owen has been recognized as Health Educator of the Year for four consecutive years and was named an Inspiring Leader through the Richard Louv Prize for Innovation in Nature Connection.
